Rosanne Brandeburg For Lake County School Board District 2

 Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I am excited to run for Lake County School Board District 2 because I believe every child deserves the best education and it is our responsibility to make it happen.

I am committed to education and believe I have an opportunity to take my education, experience and background to help make Lake County Schools the very best they can be. Our teachers and school administrators need support and resources to do the important job of educating our children.

My main objective as a member of the School Board will be to help promote the quality of education we deliver. While there has been a steady discussion of finances and dollars, I am in favor of greater focus on how we produce the best quality with our resources. I am a team player and a consensus builder and know that together we can make this happen.

I have a vested interest in our school system. My son Tyler is in the 8th grade at Carver Middle School. From the time he started kindergarten my husband John and I have been very involved in his education. This past year I have been honored to be the President of the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) and was also named Carver Middle School’s 2008 Volunteer of the Year.

I will work hard to help make the Lake County School District one we can all be proud of. I encourage parents to get involved in their child’s education and be part of their child’s school and to the grandparents and retirees who have made Lake County their home to also get involved.

I sincerely ask for your support and your vote on November 4, 2008.

Rosanne

Key Issues

Develop a Strategic Plan - so we know the needs and priorities in moving Lake County School District ahead.

Fiscal Responsibility - with the recent state budget cuts, we must focus on how we produce the best quality with our resources.

High School Graduation Rates - work with the students, teachers, parents and school administrators to increase the high school graduation rate.

School Safety - focus on school safety for a safe school environment which leads to a safe learning environment.

Parent Involvement - need to get creative in how we can engage more of our parents to be involved with their child’s school and education.

Remediation - find ways to better prepare our students with their reading and math skills.
